Plant Biologist

C-Star Solutions supports our customers with advanced problem-solving skills in the remote sensing industry to develop solutions tailored to the mission at hand. As a plant biologist on this project, you will be supporting analysis of plant-chemical relationships. You will work with software engineers and remote sensing scientists in an interdisciplinary team on a rapidly evolving program.

The responsibilities of the Plant Biologist include performing plant-based research, conducting tests and analysis, and sharing findings.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in plant biology, botany, or a related field, with a deep understanding of plant physiology, biochemistry and molecular biology.
Ultimately, the Plant Biologist will contribute to advancing our understanding of plant life, aid in the development of a plant-chemical model, and support remote sensing understanding of plants.

Responsibilities

Conduct research and experiments to improve the understanding of plant-chemical relationships.
Use specialized equipment to study plant characteristics.
Analyze plant samples and classify them.
Prepare detailed reports on research findings.
Collaborate with other scientists in conducting interdisciplinary research.
Present research findings at academic conferences or in scientific journals.

Qualifications

Proven work experience as a Plant Biologist or similar role.
Strong knowledge of plant biology, botany, or a related field.
Experience with laboratory and field work.
Proficiency in data analysis and scientific software tools (R, Python, MATLAB, etc).
Excellent observational and analytical skills.
Experience in statistics.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
PhD in Plant Biology, Botany, or a related field.
