We are seeking a President who is a strong communicator, convener, and partner to advance our efforts within the community. High visibility community leadership role.

You can help bring equitable access to economic and social opportunities for individuals in Indianapolis neighborhoods. The President leads the three-person staff team. The successful candidate will bring a wide range of experience in community development with the ability to understand and lead complex projects in consultation with our subject matter experts (staff, partners, and contractors).

The Near North Development Corporation (NNDC) is a cornerstone organization driving the transformation of the Near Northside of downtown Indianapolis. With the unprecedented construction of the new Indiana University Medical Center and a surge of exciting new development projects, the Near North community is experiencing a period of unprecedented growth and opportunity.

For over 30 years, NNDC has played a pivotal role in revitalizing the Near Northside of Indianapolis, working to foster economic development, affordable housing, and vibrant neighborhoods. As the organization moves into the future, it is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the expanding medical, educational, and commercial sectors that are reshaping the area. Key partners include community and neighborhood leaders, Ivy Tech, IU Health, The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, Citizens Energy, WFYI, and many more.

Responsibilities:

Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for NNDC's ongoing development and revitalization initiatives.
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including city officials, developers, community organizations, and businesses, to advance development projects that align with NNDC's mission.
Oversee projects that promote affordable housing, economic growth, and sustainable development in the Near North community.
Leverage the proximity to the new Indiana University Medical Center and other significant developments to attract investment, create job opportunities, and enhance the quality of life for residents.
Secure funding through grants, partnerships, and other resources to support NNDC's programs and initiatives.
Manage and inspire a team of staff and contract professionals committed to the vision of a thriving Near North side.

Qualifications:

Staff leadership and development experience.
Skilled at building an inclusive and equitable culture.
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Budgeting and financial management experience.
Familiar with real estate development, able to work with partners and contractors.
High level of professional and personal ethics.
A passion for community-driven development and an ability to inspire progress toward the organization's goals.
Familiar with comprehensive community development, affordable housing, and urban revitalization.
Ability to foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders, including public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
Familiarity with the Indianapolis market, particularly the Near Northside, is desired.
A bachelor's degree or applicable experience; advanced degree is preferred.
Ability to use and leverage technology.

Work setting/Schedule: Great office setting at 16th and Meridian in WFYI building. Flexibility to work from home when needed but most time is in the community or office. Neighborhood and community meetings and events take place in the evenings or occasional weekends, so schedule flexibility is important.

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience. $100,000 - $110,000/yr plus bonus opportunity and contribution toward health insurance.
