Environmental ManagerThe Construction Environmental Manager (CEM) will report to the Design Build Manager during D&C as well as the Developer's Environmental Compliance Manager and will be responsible for environmental compliance for the Project during preconstruction and construction phases of the project. They will collaborate with design and construction to plan, monitor, document, and report the status of environmental compliance for the Project to the Developer's Design-Build Project Manager and Environmental Compliance Manager (ECM).
The CEM will lead the resolution and report immediately to the ECM any violation in Environmental Law or environmental Quality Instance and will include, with any such report, the appropriate recommendations for corrective action.
The CEM will assist the ECM in performing, coordinating, and directing the Work of the Required Personnel in the performance of environmental Work, including the following:
- Preparation and/or reviewing environmental submittals to support re-evaluation, amendments, NOIs, and supplements to Environmental Approvals. Serving as technical lead during planning and design through environmental approvals and permitting process
- Preparation, reviewing, and submittal of environmental documents and monitoring reports during design and construction to the ECM
- Confirming environmental personnel have required training and certifications to perform their duties
- Training Project personnel on required project environmental training
- Informing scheduling with environmental and permitting requirements, including MS4 compliance Coordination in the development of the Project Schedule
- Ensuring construction workplans include environmental requirements and constraints
- Performing quality reviews of deliverables to client requirements to ensure high-quality products are produced on time and budge
- Preparing and managing scope, schedule, and budget for environmental compliance and corporate sustainability program for the project
- Coordinating with clients, sub-consultants, and in-house personnel on a regular basis
- Preparing for and conducting public and agency involvement activities
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with various levels of agency personnel
- Providing guidance and support to less experienced staff on technical and professional issues
- The CEM will stop or modify Work to maintain environmental compliance during construction
CEM Required Qualifications- SS400PP's CEM has highway transportation infrastructure experience as an environmental compliance manager, erosion control supervisor, or functional equivalent. Served as an environmental compliance manager or erosion control supervisor on at least two highway infrastructure projects involving interchange roadway and bridge aspects of similar complexity, scope, and procured under an Alternative Project Delivery method.
CEM Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor of Science/Engineering Degree and 5 years of experience
- GDOT Worksite Erosion Control Supervisor Certified.
- Has verifiable experience and demonstrates a working knowledge of Georgia's EPD MS4 permit requirements applicable to the Project
