Job SummaryThis role is a first level leader, as a working supervisor, that can oversee up to 5 associates in the lower nomenclatures performing a broad ranges of program implementation duties. Work as an Energy Efficiency Program Support Mgr in the Renewables and Energy Efficiency organization, utilizing a broad knowledge of business and energy engineering principles and practices acquired through progressive field and academic experience. Job is to provide support for energy efficiency and demand response programs, with a primary focus on the managing activities related to the participation of demand response resources in the PJM Interconnection capacity market. This includes the technical evaluation of resources to offer in the market, the estimation of resource quantities, and direct interaction with PJM and its platforms to ensure all rules and processes are followed. The position will require close collaboration with all program teams to ensure PJM rules and processes are followed. Position will also be responsible for active participation on PJM committees and other work groups related to Demand Response, Virtual Power Plants (VPP) and other related activities.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams, including other RES members, Customer Care, Contracting, Procurement, Legal, Marketing, IT etc, as required to deliver program services
- Enhance program delivery/customer experience and resolve business issues
- Develop and maintain the processes for evaluating energy efficiency projects and programs in accordance with requirements for BPU approved programs
- Ensure accurate invoice processing
- Identify and implement process improvements and automate where possible
- Assist with special projects as necessary
- During storm restoration efforts, may be required to perform functions outside of routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations
Job Responsibilities - Interface with PSEG associates, vendors, customers and outside consultants to assure the Demand Response activities and PJM Program rules and requirements are maintained, the projects delivered when needed and the information needed for management and regulatory reporting is accurate and timely.
- Track all milestones and deadlines needed to comply with PJM rules and processes related to auctions and ensure the Company is compliant and meets deadlines.
- Work independently on most technical issues related to resource participation in PJM markets. Utilize a broad knowledge of business and engineering principles and practices, including financial and cost management, acquired through progressive experience.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams, including other RES members, Customer Care, Contracting, Procurement, Legal, Marketing, IT etc, as required to deliver program services, enhance program delivery/customer experience and resolve business issues.
- Develop and maintain program processes. Provide oversight for process improvement and program evaluation. Ensure accurate invoice processing. Identify and implement process improvements and automate where possible.
- Interface with PSEG associates, vendors, customers and outside consultants to assure the Program rules and requirements are maintained, the projects are cost effective and the information needed for management and regulatory reporting is accurate and timely
- Perform and oversee program and project QA/QC as required. Perform complex energy savings analysis, energy modeling, analyze measurement and verification data..
Job Specific QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, Physics, Energy Analysis, Business, Finance or other relevant field and 7 years experience managing vendor performance, and leading cross-functional teams; Demand Response, Energy Efficiency or Electric Vehicle program experience. In lieu of a degree, 11 years of experience managing vendor performance, and leading cross-functional teams; Demand Response, Energy Efficiency or Electric Vehicle program experience
- Management/leadership experience working with cross-functional teams
- Previous experience in implementation of demand side management response strategies such as Direct Load Control(DLC), Pay 4 Performance(P4P) and Virtual Power Plants (VPP).
- Must be knowledgeable of Commercial & Industrial energy savings measures and techniques.
- Familiarity with applicable industry standards (ASHRAE, NJ Protocols for Energy Savings, etc.) , building codes and best practices.
- Ability to work independently on most technical issues.
- Applicant must have effective problem-solving, analytical thinking, decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and be results-oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
- Clear and concise writing and verbal (oral and written) communications skills are essential.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel & MS Word)
- Valid drivers license

- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification
- Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) certification
- MBA or Advanced Degree
