Position Summary: The Senior Sustainability Manager (SSM) is a pivotal role within DT Global, combining operational leadership, client engagement, and technical excellence to support the growth of the Commercial Advisory Practice. The SSM will lead the implementation of projects focused on sustainability, particularly in areas like the global food transition, circular economy, and nature-based solutions. This role demands exceptional strategic guidance to support clients in achieving science-driven sustainability goals and delivering economic value through regenerative approaches. The SSM will contribute to DT Global's thought leadership, business development, and project delivery by implementing innovative and practical advisory solutions. The SSM will serve as a mid-level manager and reports to the Practice Area Lead.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:Project Delivery and Technical Excellence
- Responsible for servicing project work through specialized skills in Nature based Solutions, circular economy, food systems and sustainability.
- Act as the primary problem solver for project challenges, escalating issues as necessary and ensuring alignment with the Practice Area Lead (PAL).
- Oversee project startups and closeouts, supporting initiatives and backfilling leadership when needed, including travel to field locations.
- Monitor and evaluate consultant and subcontractor performance, ensuring contractual deliverables and timelines are met.
- Represent DT Global in client interactions, problem-solving discussions, and delivering impactful presentations.
- Develop and oversee the execution of technical work plans to meet project goals while maintaining high quality standards.
- Support the development and submission of all project deliverables in compliance with client
- Stays up to date on program implementation and serves as a resource for other home office colleagues regarding projects within their portfolio.
- Regularly discussing program performance and professional successes and challenges and conducting annual performance evaluations with the PAL.
- Takes accountability for project processes including contractual quality assurance and compliance; interfaces with finance and contracts to ensure financial management and contract compliance.
- Manage team dynamics and workload; communicate with senior management regarding resource needs.
- Contributes to the development of project work plans and helps to ensure that technical work plans are executed. Encouraged to use knowledge of development issues and culture to adapt work plans to changing circumstances and seeks alternative ways of achieving project implementation goals.
- Oversee formatting and submission of all project deliverables to clients.
Business Development
- Drive business development efforts by identifying opportunities that align with DT Global's priorities in corporate sustainability.
- Build connections and proactively pitch DT Global's offerings to potential clients, focusing on circular and systems thinking.
- Lead proposal development, including crafting technical approaches, partnering strategies, staffing plans, and cost models.
- Conduct information-gathering and scoping trips to support anticipated and live proposals, providing strategic insights to strengthen submissions.
- Contribute to pipeline discussions, ensuring alignment with market demands and company objectives.
- Support PAL and other advisers in contributing towards the Commercial Advisory business 1) growing market share and 2) building marketing and business development engines.
- Harness the SSMs entrepreneurial strengths towards supporting DT Global growth priorities and active pursuits.
- As necessary, draft proposals and sections.

Education, Experience, and Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in international development, international relations, political science, government, economics, business, natural resource management or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- Minimum 7-10years of direct experience in the global food transition and/or corporate sustainability.
- Experience in overseeing project implementation and business development initiatives.
- Experience in consulting and advisory services in corporate sustainability related field.
- Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work independently and effectively lead multiple teams.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Proven experience with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of business models with circular and systems thinking, driving change through collaboration.
- Field experience working outside the US, particularly in developing countries, required.
- Ability to travel and work overseas on short term technical assignments up to 20%, at times with very short notice.
Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in international development, international relations, political science, government, business, economics, management or a related field.
- Experience working with multiple donors and stakeholders in sustainability initiatives.
- Confidence and expertise in public speaking, with a proven ability to articulate complex sustainability topics.

The salary range for this position is expected to be $120,000 - $130,000. Salary offers are made based on several factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, relevant education, certifications, skills, internal equity, market analysis, and business or organizational needs.
