Position PurposeResponsible for overseeing all company activities related to their Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) and/or Benzene Waste Operation NESHAP (BWON) programs at the nested site. This position will work closely with the company leadership, staff, and customers. The Environmental Program Manager will utilize their communication skills and professional expertise to help continuously improve PROtect service offerings and maintain customer compliance with all necessary regulations.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties1. Execute hiring plan to meet the site/project's current and future growth objectives. Work with team members to develop annual goals. Provide timely coaching and mentoring to help team members reach goals. Provide employee corrective action when needed and perform annual performance reviews for all team members.
2. Maintain constant communication with the customer to report on progress, concerns and ensure expectations are being exceeded.
3. Responsible for coordinating and scheduling team project meetings and updating project status reports specific to respective site/projects.
4. Ensure project stays within scope and progress is being made within the expected timeline. All scope changes and/or adjustments are tracked and clearly communicated with the customer.
5. Manage project budget effectively and ensure the team achieves their maximum potential and value for the customer. Ensure expenses are being managed appropriately and identified savings opportunities when available.
6. Safety - Review Job Safety Assessments and ensure that staff have proper safety equipment and supplies on hand. Maintain up to date knowledge of applicable safety policies and procedures. Direct and monitor safety standards in the work environment and ensure safety of staff. Ensure that staff respond to random drug screens following required protocols. Monitor annual drug and alcohol testing dates; ensure that employees are current for client access. Assist Safety Manager to ensure that all employees receive and maintain required training, including new hires before beginning field work.
7. Support scope of work and cost estimate development and work with Senior Leadership to develop final presentation and submittal to customer.
8. Promote company culture and identify obstacles to clear regarding staff efficiencies and productivity.
9. Recognize customer opportunities and coordinate workload with other operations and divisional managers to share resources as needed.
10. Provide technical expertise on and individually do what's necessary to support growth.
11. Coordinate the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of PROtect's standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the site's LDAR/BWON services.
12. Work closely with subject matter experts with the development and deployment of existing and new products, services, and publications specific to PROtect's LDAR/BWON services.
13. Maintain consistent communication with PROtect's VP of Environmental Monitoring and Mitigation concerning project status or issues, staffing needs or issues, resource and equipment needs, and other internal or external concerns where assistance is necessary.
14. Manage remote traveling staff performing work in multiple locations, in multiple time zones, throughout the U.S. This includes ensuring a comprehensive quarterly schedule is prepared on a rolling monthly basis for the next 90 days, coordinated with client shutdown schedules, and effectively communicated to the LDAR team and clients. Manage LDAR staff travel planning to reduce costs, centralize travel destinations, ensuring clients are serviced Monday - Friday during plant (day shift) normal business hours.
Manage the site/project team's job sheets, time sheets, and expense reporting in collaboration with the accounting department representative to ensure timeliness and accuracy of data entry into the ticketing system.
Requirements
Qualifications: Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree preferred, engineering, science, technical preferred
Required Knowledge & Experience:- 10+ years professional level refinery related experience preferred
- Demonstrated Management experience required
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
- Strong understanding of EPA and state specific environmental regulations
- Knowledge of general chemical/petrochemical processing and industrial manufacturing processes is preferred
- LDAR and/or BWON experience is a plus

Physical Activities and Requirements of this PositionOccasional site visits required, up to 25% travel required or as needed. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Able to view computer screen for lengths at a time. Must be able to speak and listen clearly. Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy. Safety-oriented attitude with a true commitment to personal safety as well as the safety of others is a must. This job may require lifting of up to 25 pounds occasionally. May be exposed to loud noises, wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme hot and cold depending on weather conditions. Requires climbing and working at heights, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, standing for long periods, walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive motion, working in confined spaces, working near hazards including moving mechanical parts, and working near electrical components.
