Purpose
To assist the Utilities and Energy Management (UEM) power systems team with special projects
Responsibilities
- To assist with journey-level installation, retrofit, repair, and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems in an electrical generation and chill water production environment.
- Responsible for assisting with journey-level craftsmanship in the installation, retrofit, repair, and maintenance of circuit breakers, motors, motor starters, VFDs, soft-starters, PLC/DCS systems, UPS systems, ATS's, lighting and other electrical, instrumentation and controls related items.
Required Qualifications
High school grad OR GED. Completion of a relevant technical trade school. 2 years of electrical installation experience
Preferred Qualifications
2-years electrical installation experience in an industrial environment
Driving Required
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

- Exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards typical to power plants, chilling stations, and utility distribution systems. May be required to work in tunnels, manholes, and work extended shifts.
Work Shift
- Hours per week - 40
- Work hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Additional explanation of work hours: 6:00 am-3:30 pm Mon-Thurs and 6:00 am-2:30 pm every other Friday
