We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Environmental Engineer to help us maintain safe drinking water for the citizens of Pennsylvania. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an Environmental Engineer, you will provide engineering support in the implementation of the public water supply, water allocation, and PENNVEST programs at the regional level. Your duties will include reviewing complex permit applications for water allocations and public water systems. You can expect to conduct pre-operational inspections at public water systems and provide engineering support in resolving technical problems with water plant operations.. You will also advise public water system owners, operators, and the general public of the requirements and provisions of the Pennsylvania Safe Drinking Water Act.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes-Barre.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Most selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $73,995.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:- Four years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
- Three years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
- Two years as an Environmental Engineering Specialist; or
- Three years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or in any engineering field that includes or is supplemented by 9 credits in environmental engineering.
- Graduate study in environmental engineering or in a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Conditions of Employment:- This position requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
