Job Summary:
The CAD Quality Project Manager will oversee the quality and consistency of CAD deliverables for solar energy projects. This role requires managing CAD projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, improving design quality, and driving process enhancements. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of CAD systems, solar energy design requirements, and project management methodologies.
Job Responsibilities:
CAD Quality Management
• Oversee the quality and accuracy of CAD designs for residential, commercial, and industrial solar projects.
• Develop and implement quality control standards and procedures to maintain CAD deliverables' consistency and precision.
• Conduct design reviews, audits, and approvals for CAD drawings.
Project Management
• Manage multiple CAD-related projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, and project management teams to ensure project objectives align with CAD output.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to optimize design workflows.
Technical Leadership
• Provide guidance and mentorship to CAD Designers and Engineers.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, building codes, and solar industry regulations (e.g., NEC, AHJ requirements).
• Work with engineering teams to resolve technical design challenges efficiently.
Collaboration & Communication
• Serve as a liaison between engineering, project managers, and construction teams to ensure quality designs meet field requirements.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to resolve design discrepancies and prioritize project needs.
Process Improvement
• Analyze design workflows and identify opportunities for standardization, automation, and quality enhancement.
• Implement CAD software best practices to optimize project design efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in CAD design, drafting, or quality management.
• 2+ years of experience managing CAD projects or teams within the solar industry or related fields (renewable energy, construction, or utilities).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, or similar CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of solar design requirements, including electrical layouts, structural racking plans, and permitting processes.
• Project Management experience
• Ability to interpret and apply NEC codes, AHJ regulations, and site-specific requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure accuracy and quality.
