Key Responsibilities:Sustainability Project Management- Strong collaboration with engineering and other departments, to create a long-term, non-reactive strategy to be a responsible business and minimize risk.
- Manage that strategy across a cross-functional team, bringing other people into the vision.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve water and energy efficiency, working with Engineering to implement.
- Identify and manage waste reduction initiatives across all operations, working with Operations to implement.
- Identify and secure funding opportunities for sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with state and local regulations.
- Submit required data to governing agencies and provide metrics for customers.
Process Improvement - Continuously seek out new technologies and methods to enhance sustainability efforts.
- Lead initiatives to evaluate innovative sustainability solutions.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to implement improvements.
Employee Empowerment and Engagement - Create programs to educate and engage employees in sustainability practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in sustainability efforts.
- Grow the Green Team to achieve sustainability goals.
Community- Authentically promote diversity and inclusion within the company and community.
- Seek community involvement opportunities and partnerships that support mutual rewarding outcomes.
Data Analysis and Reporting- Monitor and report on sustainability metrics, including water and energy usage, waste reduction, and community impact.
- Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on sustainability progress.
Innovation and Technology Trends in Food Manufacturing: - Stay abreast of the latest trends in food manufacturing to address efficiency and waste.
- Leverage technology to enhance project management and data analysis.
- Maintain a good understanding of food regulations and standards.
Problem Solving and Risk Management: - Identify and mitigate project risks and oversee any issues that arise promptly and effectively.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize risks and find efficiencies in project execution.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to address challenges and ensure project success.
