Velosity is searching for a Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to act as an enterprise role, supporting all four of our locations. This position will oversee and implement environmental, health, and safety programs within our manufacturing facility and is responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization. The role is also responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives within Velosity. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of EHS laws, and a commitment to creating a safe and environmentally responsible workplace that also aligns with our ESG goals.

This is an on-site position, with 1 remote day per week available.The typical pay range for this role: $94,378 - $125,000This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, internal equity and other relevant factors. Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent relevant work experience).
- Minimum of 6 years of EHS experience including at least 2 in an EHS management role, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- 2+ years prior experience implementing and supporting ESG programs is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements.
- Experience with implementing EHS programs, conducting risk assessments, and performing safety audits.
- Strong understanding of environmental impact management, including waste, air quality, and chemical safety protocols.
- Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar, preferred.
- Experience with workplace safety/incident investigations, workers compensation claims filing, and return to work programs.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Proven ability to identify and solve safety problems, including the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software systems.
- Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States; Valid driver's license required.
Essential FunctionsEHS:- Develop, implement, and manage the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal regulations and industry best practices.
- Manage and execute the daily operations of the EHS program within the manufacturing facilities, including safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Monitor and enforce safety standards and regulations for all employees, contractors, and visitors to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
- Lead and conduct regular safety training sessions and monitor compliance on same for employees at all sites to increase awareness and improve safety practices including programs on PPE, Bloodborne Pathogens, SDS, and other OSHA mandated training and job specific training related to each site.
- Manage and lead the site safety committees.
- Investigate and report on workplace accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions, recommending corrective actions and ensuring timely resolution.
- Coordinate and ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste disposal, air quality standards, and hazardous material management.
- Work closely with production and operations teams to identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risk.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for potential incidents (fire, chemical spill, etc.) and ensure proper drills are conducted.
- Stay up to date on federal, state, and local safety regulations and ensure the company's compliance with any changes in laws or regulations.
- Prepare and submit EHS-related reports to regulatory authorities and company leadership as required.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the safety culture and performance of the manufacturing site.
- Manage the workers' compensation claim process including filing claims, interfacing with the insurance company representatives, and coordinating return to work actions for our employees.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Quality and Operations, to implement effective safety initiatives and strategies.
- Manage EHS-related records, audits, and reports, ensuring all documentation including OSHA logs are accurate and up to date.
- Assist with the preparation for safety audits, inspections, and assessments by regulatory bodies or third-party auditors.
- Coordinate annual fire drills, tornado drills, and active shooter awareness drills.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA, Haz-waste, regulatory agencies.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments as needed.
ESG:- Developing and implementing ESG strategies, policies, and frameworks that align with the organization's values and goals.
- Conducting thorough ESG assessments and identifying key sustainability risks, opportunities, and performance indicators.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG practices across various business functions, including operations, supply chain, human resources, and finance.
- Monitoring and reporting on ESG performance, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
- Engaging with stakeholders, such as investors, employees, customers, and communities, to communicate the organization's sustainability efforts and foster meaningful relationships.
- Staying updated on emerging ESG trends, best practices, and regulatory developments to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Physical & Mental Demands:- Walking is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands.
- Work is primarily conducted in a manufacturing facility environment, including exposure to noise, machinery, and chemicals.
- Local travel to all site locations for training and audits and safety meetings is required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed, to address safety issues or emergencies.

Work Environment:This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. This position may require one to move throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding/ Precision Machining shop.
