Summary: This position ensures product quality throughout the manufacturing process by conducting visual and dimensional checks, testing raw materials, and troubleshooting quality control issues in real time. The role involves working closely with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to address quality concerns, develop continuous improvement solutions, and maintain compliance with production specifications. Responsibilities also include maintaining inventory controls, auditing materials, and providing guidance on dimensional quality issues. Additionally, the role requires compiling training materials, conducting QC training sessions, and staying updated on industry standards and new testing methods.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They should be adaptable, safety-conscious, and capable of handling physical tasks, such as lifting up to 50 pounds. The position requires the ability to meet productivity goals, maintain accurate records, and contribute to a positive and efficient work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
-Conduct routine visual checks of product; ensure products meet or exceed visual specifications
-Test against specifications for standards such as color and dimension
-Ensure all final products are checked against the drawings to ensure they match
-Provide guidance for dimensional quality issues that arise during production
-Identify, isolate, document, and communicate any issues
-Inventory and audit controls; material movement tracking; status documentation
-Raw material testing
-Utilize the most current production schedule; help facilitate production schedule changes as needed
-Troubleshoot any quality control-related issues in real time
-Develop areas and implement solutions for continuous improvement and drive lean principles
-Determine whether the process and completed products meet specified standards and specifications
-Establishes limits of allowable variation from specifications at various stages of the manufacturing process
-Participate in resolution of design problems to offset causes of deviation from quality standards
-Devise a method to assess the cost and responsibility for discrepant material
-Interface with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing to coordinate and resolve quality-related problems
-Compile training material and conduct training sessions on QC activities
-Maintains a working knowledge of the latest codes and new developments in testing and examination methods of processes, materials, and products
-Create sustainable improvement solutions
-Evaluate, understand, and solve customer-related quality issues
