The State Water Resources Control Board's Division of Water Quality has an opening for an Environmental Scientist in the Ocean Standards Unit. This position is located at 1001 I Street, 15 th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814, with an opportunity for hybrid telework.
Duties:
Under the close supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist, the incumbent will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team tasked with developing statewide water quality control plans and policies, or amendments thereof, such as the Water Quality Control Plan for Ocean Waters of California. The incumbent will use biological, chemical, and physical principles and information to develop recommendations for beneficial uses of ocean waters, appropriately protective water quality objectives, and implementation programs. Additionally, the incumbent will manage and administer the Public Beach Safety Monitoring Grant Program, which includes developing grant agreements and reviewing invoices, developing and reviewing quality assurance plans, assisting with data management, and facilitating the Coastal Beach Water Quality Workgroup meetings.
