About the Role:
EMR USA is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team in Dallas, TX. In this role, you will operate a hydraulic crane to handle and move metal materials throughout the yard. We're looking for someone who thrives in an outdoor environment, can work independently, and is dedicated to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload scrap metal materials, bales, bins, and crates from customer trailers and trucks.
- Transfer materials efficiently and pick up any falling material during transport.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing debris and potential hazards.
- Adhere to maintenance schedules, keeping accurate service logs.
- Follow all health, safety, and operational protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ consecutive years of crane operation experience.
- OSHA/Safety certification preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of scrap metal commodities is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (rain, cold, heat).
- Ability to handle stressful situations, multitask, and manage time effectively.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor setting with exposure to moving mechanical parts and varying weather conditions.
- Noise levels can be high; ear protection may be required.
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
