Are you the kind of person who loves working with powerful machinery, thrives in hands-on roles, and doesn't mind getting your hands a little dirty to get the job done? If you're nodding your head, keep reading because we need YOU to join our team at EMR!
We're one of the top names in metal recycling, and we're searching for a Mobile Shear Operator to power up our operations. You'll be at the forefront, slicing and dicing scrap metal like a pro while making a real impact in the recycling world.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Operate with Precision: Skillfully operate mobile shearing equipment to efficiently and safely process various types of scrap metal, including ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
- Optimize Performance: Adjust shear settings to achieve precise cuts tailored to material types and specifications.
- Maintain Equipment Excellence: Conduct inspections, perform routine maintenance, and address basic equipment issues to ensure peak performance and longevity.
- Prioritize Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols, utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately, and handle hazardous materials responsibly.
- Contribute to Team Success: Assist with additional tasks as required to support operational goals and uphold a collaborative work environment.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Mechanical Savvy: You know your way around heavy equipment and can troubleshoot and maintain it like a champ.
- Sharp Eye for Safety: You understand the importance of rules and know how to read and follow safety instructions.
- Quick Thinker: Problem-solving and attention to detail are second nature to you.
YOUR TOOLKIT
- At least 2 years of experience operating mobile shear equipment or similar heavy machinery (bonus points if you've worked in recycling or industrial settings).
- Knowledge of metal types and grades is a big plus - if you can tell your ferrous from your non-ferrous, we're impressed.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- This isn't a desk job. You'll be outdoors, working with powerful machines in all weather conditions. Expect loud noises, heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and a lot of action. If you love being on your feet and in the middle of it all, this is the role for you.
