ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: - Prepare all aspects of air quality permits to be submitted to state and federal agencies, primarily in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia
- Communicate with regulatory agencies to ensure permits are issued in a timely manner
- Review permit applications and final permits with environmental and operations personnel to ensure applications are accurate and programs are in place to meet all permit conditions.
- Assist corporate office in preparing aspects of the annual emission inventory program as related to blowdowns and simulation models for each facility.
- Participate in local advocacy groups.
- Assist field environmental coordinators in all matters
- Participate in the audit program, including participating in audits and responding to audit findings
- Review and analyze data from performance tests and analysis
- Stay current in applicable local, state, and federal ordinances, rules, and regulations
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:- Knowledge of environmental rules and regulations pertaining to the natural gas sector
- Air permitting experience in Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania
- Experience with common industry models such as HYSYS, ProMax, GRI-Glycalc, or other simulation models is a plus
- Must be able to critically analyze data to recognize patterns or deviations from normally acceptable results
- Ability to work well and communicate with a variety of personnel, from field operations to senior managers to regulatory authorities
- Ability to maintain a schedule of projects and tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide training sessions for field personnel.
- Basic computer skills to include knowledge of Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to exercise discretion when dealing with confidential company information.
- A current driver's license is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:Physical Demands:This position will require a mixture of deskwork and fieldwork. It will involve some lifting.
Local travel to field sites will be required regularly, which will involve walking around construction sites, industrial locations, fields, and/or wooded areas. Up to 10% of the time, overnight travel may be required out of town.
Working Environment:While primarily working in an office setting, the employee will be required to visit the field locations on occasion to assess the needs of each site and gather required information for the required plans. During these visits, the employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and will often be exposed to outside weather conditions, which could range from cold to hot, humid conditions. Walking on uneven terrain is often required during field visits. High noise areas may be encountered.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- High School Diploma or GED required with 10 years of relevant environmental experience in a process industry (e.g. refining, midstream, petrochemical, or other heavy industrial); or Bachelor's degree in a HES-related field with 5 years relevant environmental experience; or Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2 years relevant environmental experience
- Ability to monitor compliance with environmental regulations
- Ability to develop business acumen and technical knowledge
