Essential Duties:- Reviews customer and vendor procurement documents to ensure adherence to requirements and establish methods for compliance where none exist. This includes: participation in design reviews and preparation of customer required documentation.
- Interfaces with outside parties (customers, auditors and vendors) to establish inspections and audits in compliance with quality requirements.
- Active participation in contract reviews
- Reviews customer complaints and returns and development of satisfactory resolution.
- Provide quality gatekeeping measures per the current manufacturing processes. Assists in controlling manufacturing processes by recommending the most efficient use of equipment, materials and manpower.
- Responsible for verification that all requirements have been met before final release of product to customers.
- Initiates ideas, suggestions and recommendation within the area of assigned projects.
- Monitor testing to ensure efficient functioning and conformance with safety specifications, regulations and laws.
- Prepares technical reports.
- Creates inspection test plans (ITP's) as per customer requirements, including the applicable witness points of subcontractors as determined by plans.
- Conducts root cause investigations and develops corrective action for customer complaint issues.
- Supports control and distribution of raw material specifications.
- Supports the timely and effective disposition of quality issues with manufacturing and/or vendor.
- Properly interprets and apply regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining quality records in adherence to Marmon IEI and customer requirements.
- Effectively communicate with all departments on quality and compliance issues.
- Supports activities to comply with all Quality Management System (QMS) process and documentation requirements.
- Participate in and lead quality and process improvement projects.
- Prepare, revise and implement relevant SOPs related to the QMS.
- Responsible for audits (including commercial grade designation assessments) of suppliers.
- Responsible for facilitating the annual supplier evaluation process.
- Support to testing / inspection function as required during peak workload conditions.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as needed.
These are the general duties required to fulfill the Sr. Nuclear Quality Assurance Engineer, job description, not a detailed description of all work required. New duties and responsibilities may be required to meet the changing demands of the business.
Educational/Job Experience Requirements:- Four-year engineering degree, preferably B.S. Electrical Engineering coupled with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the field of wire & cable or in a related area. 10+ years of experience in wire & cable may substitute four year engineering degree requirement.
- Must have the ability to represent the Company and give formal presentations.
- Strong technical knowledge of wire and cable manufacturing processes/operations and inspections/tests.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification preferred.
- Experience with NQA-1 standard preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all hourly personnel and all levels of management, as well as customers and external vendors, inspectors, etc.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, coupled with conceptual and analytical ability to interpret and implement contractual requirements both written and implied.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines in a timely manner.
- Must have objective, sound judgment.
