Woodworking Operator
Position Summary:The Woodworker will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production of wood baseball bats. This position will start with grading and weighing wood, and the expectation is to grow into a fully trained member of the production team.
Position Responsibilities:- Responsible for sanding, prepping, boning, cupping, and various other tasks.
- Operates production machinery in accordance with specifications. Assigned machines may include a chop saw, hobby lathe, drum sander, and similar equipment.
- Produces the required quantity of bats within established specifications and tolerances.
- Measures finished bats with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
- Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
- Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
- Maintains proper storage for material and product inventory.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
