As a Process Engineer Intern you will utilize your skills to analysis, optimize and deliver engineering solutions to the business for both capital project's and operational improvements. The Process Engineer will be responsible for the development and approval of process equipment designs and specifications working independently on complex problems and collaboratively with other engineering disciplines when necessary. The engineer's work may have high levels of ambiguity and determining solutions will require working with unknowns. The engineer's target focus will be in reaction engineering and high temperature equipment with a focus on technical design knowledge of these processes.
Your Impact in This RoleAs Process Engineer Intern, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Safety - Maintain and promote a safe working environment for all employees and work with the principles of safety in design.
- Design - Develop technical documentation in some cases bridging the technology gap between R&D into industrial processing.
- Analytics - Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding both project based optimization and operational optimization.
- Project Engineering - interpretation of design documents in support of construction contractors.
- Project Management - Coordination between the construction team and other functions; engineering, sourcing/contracting, project controls and risk management including coordination of commissioning and handover activities into operations.
- Reporting to the relevant Engineering Department Manager the engineer will be responsible for the organization of their own task's to meet project deadlines.
What You Bring to the Table- Current student working on a bachelor's degree in science or chemical engineering, further education as PhD or master's is favorable.
- Industry experience minimum of 4-6 years with exposure to industrial equipment and/or reaction engineering processes.
- Exposure in small to medium sized project engineering designs or improvement programs of various complexity levels.
- Site based design/operating engineering experience would be favorable.
