PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR FACTORS IN EVALUATING PERFORMANCE:
Responsible for all testing, training, and reporting requirements for the regulatory agencies of O.S.H.A., D.N.R., D.O.T., and E.P.A, and to ensure compliance with Company Policy regarding those agencies.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:- Oversee the adequacy of the Company job safety cards; personal protective equipment program; samaritan first aid; respiratory and pulmonary program; and all the associated training there in required.
- Review all incidences concerning occupational health and safety that otherwise result in worker's compensation claims and oversee the generation of the required documentation and reports. Complete workmen compensation reports and provide direction for proper medical care for injured employees using our workmen compensation provider as required.
- Serve as the Chairperson on the safety committee.
- Ensure employee monitoring and area surveillance for occupational health hazards. Subcontract facility safety/hygiene monitoring such as but not limited to noise, air emissions and water etc...
- Develop, manage, coordinate, and maintain occupational health programs and train all personnel in those programs.
- Coordinate the training of the samaritan first aid responders, manage the first aid room and first aid supplies inventory and investigate all incidences.
- Develop all required training programs to ensure compliance to O.S.H.A. regulations, and train the necessary employees in those programs.
- Assist in the safety orientation and training of all new employees.
- Generate all reports, labels, and manifests, as required by D.O.T.

- Generate all required reports for E.P.A. and M.D.N.R. on a timely basis, and secure all required permits and analyses, ensuring complete compliance with established guidelines and promulgations.
- Shall select treatment, storage, and disposal facilities for generated hazardous waste.
- Shall acquire and maintain all required certifications as a qualified instructor, and remain current in knowledge of hazardous communications, fork truck operation, ergonomics, lockout/tagout, confined space, etc., as applies to D.O.T., E.P.A., D.N.R., O.S.H.A.
- Observe the Company code of conduct, safety and quality principles that must be the top priority at all times.
- Develop and maintain an Environmental Management System (EMS) working towards ISO 14001 certification.
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS:A degree in Industrial Engineering or Occupational/Industrial Safety/Hygiene or the equivalent, with two (2) or more years of experience in an industrial setting, or progressive experience in Safety and environmental with metal working industry.
Working knowledge of I.S.O. requirements.
