GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of our EHS programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a culture of safety and sustainability throughout the organization. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, providing leadership and guidance, and driving continuous improvement in EHS performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Environmental Management: Develop and implement processes to minimize the plant's environmental impact. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations at the local, state, and federal levels. Conduct environmental assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Lead initiatives to reduce waste, conserve resources, and promote environmental sustainability.
Health and Safety Leadership: Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs to create a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Investigate accidents, near misses, and other safety incidents, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence. Provide leadership and collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of safety.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in environmental, health, and safety regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and standards. Interface with regulatory agencies and participate in inspections, audits, and permit renewals. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to regulatory compliance activities.
Employee Training and Development: Lead EHS training programs for employees at all levels of the organization. Ensure that employees are aware of and understand their roles and responsibilities related to EHS. Provide guidance and support to employees on EHS-related issues and promote employee involvement in safety initiatives.
Continuous Improvement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure EHS performance and track progress towards goals. Analyze data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of risk. Implement corrective and preventive actions to address identified issues and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA) and safety standards.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Proven track record of driving continuous improvement in EHS performance.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred.
