The Process Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing production processes, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Key Functions & Responsibilities of the Process Engineer - Chemical

Develop and implement standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Design, develop, and modify production processes, products, and equipment to optimize efficiency and meet customer specifications.
Utilize Six Sigma tools and other problem-solving methodologies to identify and address root causes of process issues.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including PFMEAs and work instructions.
Ensure adherence to quality standards and SPC requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and ISO 14001 regulations.
Implement Lean manufacturing principles, including 5S.
Lead and manage new product launches and capital projects.
Develop equipment layouts, manufacturing processes, and detailed cost estimates.
Oversee the work of external contractors and vendors.
Support program management activities, including quoting, design, procurement, and production implementation.
Analyze process data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance.
Maintain equipment and ensure optimal utilization.
Procure spare parts and equipment upgrades.
Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues.
Support the development of technical skills within the team.
Maintain accurate engineering documentation and records.
Support tooling modifications and PPAP processes.
Provide training and support for new product launches.
Collaborate with quality teams to address quality issues.
Participate in safety and environmental initiatives.

Required Education, Qualifications, & Skills of the Process Engineer - Chemical

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
Knowledge of polymer extrusion, spunbond, or non-woven textile processes.
2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
Experience with process optimization, problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation.
Strong technical skills, including CAD and software proficiency.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with robotic controls (ABB, Fanuc, Motoman) and PLC/HMI systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens) is preferred.
