About the position: The Strategic Sourcing Manager - Energy Storage Solutions is a forward-thinking supply chain professional responsible for working with new product development teams across Toyota Materials Handling North America (TMHNA) brands to develop supplier partnerships and source critical components for advanced energy solutions products. The ideal candidate has a natural technical curiosity, a keen awareness of supply chain competency, with the ability to develop a deep technical understanding of the application and the experience to ensure competitive sourcing strategies.
As a Strategic Sourcing Manager - Energy Storage Solutions you will:
- Manage material sourcing for samples, prototypes and pre-production builds and serves as interface with engineering to launch production.
- Strategically interfacing with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Responsible for the delivery and execution of commodity sourcing strategies.
- Creates sourcing strategy to support Energy Solutions business objectives working cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and
- Drive value based on an understanding of the business unit needs, the supply market, spend baseline, evolution, and benchmarking.
- Fosters and nurtures relationships with technology companies and startups to facilitate technology transfer as
- Be able to comprehend and drive necessary technology development both internally and externally, in support of business objectives.
- Analyze and anticipates future market conditions to develop appropriate sourcing
- Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the supply chain.
- Monitor and evaluation supplier performances and adapt sourcing strategies to meet business needs and problem resolution.
- Develop, negotiate, and manage agreements and contracts with supplier and ensure contract terms are aligned with our business requirements.
- Complies with supply chain policies and procedures.
About you: - Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or closely related field.
- 5 or more years of related global sourcing, supply chain, technical program management, and/or new product engineering experience with an emphasis in Energy Solutions
- Experience with drafting and negotiating contracts.
It would be great if you had:- Master's in Business Administration.
- NAPM Certified Purchasing Manager credential.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization, as well as externally with supply chain partners.
- Foreign language or foreign supplier experience a plus: Japanese, Chinese, or Spanish
- Specific experience with battery design, assembly, or sourcing of components (cells, battery modules, electrical contractors, electrical connectors, wiring harnesses, bus bars, BMS hardware and BMS Software)
- Excellent planning, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to be self-starter who is a creative, out-of-the-box thinker to overcome obstacles to achieve results.
About the schedule/location:This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule upon successful completion of training and orientation period. This position will be based in Rochester at the Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA), Energy Solutions Development Center.
About the total compensation package: Salary: $94,000 - $120,000 per year. Compensation commensurate with selected candidates' education and experience.
