What you will be doing:While working as a technical lead or project manager with a team of engineers and/or designers, the Senior Engineer is responsible for the design and development of complex projects in support of water and wastewater distribution, collection, and treatment systems
Job Responsibilities: - Apply established Engineering principles to plan, design, and develop systems or processes with minimal supervision.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Interns, EIT's, and other appropriate employees.
- Maintain strong technical knowledge of Environmental engineering design techniques and procedures.
- Roles and Responsibilities might include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Developing the design of complex projects from the Pre-Schematic Phase through the development of Construction Documents. The types of projects might include but are not limited to large scale systems to support water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and distribution and collection systems, studies and system analyses such as Needs Assessments, Available Facilities' Analyses, Capacity Evaluations/Modeling, Environmental Impact Assessments, etc.
- Conduct project related site visits to document existing conditions and gather project data.
- Assist with Development of front end/contract specifications and technical equipment and performance specifications.
- Complete project bid phase and construction tasks such as responding to contractor RFI's, preparing addenda, construction site inspections, and review of contractor change orders and shop drawing reviews.
- Gather needed data and complete permit applications for client compliance of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and construction requirements.
- If assigned as Project Manager (PM), perform PM responsibilities per company procedures including, but not limited to, the following:
- Work plan development, monitoring of schedules and budgets, attendance of project client and team meetings to assist with coordination and development of project requirements.
- Serve as Client Liaison which may or may not include attendance at regular authority/municipality meetings, preparation of invoices and preparation of client progress reports.
- Serve as the Primary Point of Contact between client and project team providing coordination and direction of a multi-discipline project team to successfully execute the client's project.

- Perform QA/QC procedures and enforce quality control procedures throughout project development.
- Assure compliance with corporate procedures relevant to project design and implementation.
- Actively participate in corporate seller/doer efforts, including seeking out future opportunities for BH while meeting the client's needs, meeting with prospective clients, assisting with proposal development and establishing project fees.
Experience, Technical Skills, and Attributes: - 10 to 15 years of experience in the design and implementation of Wastewater and Water Projects
- Possess advanced leadership skills as either a technical leader and/or project manager of complex projects
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar major (must be from an ABET accredited program)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, a must
- General Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit/BIM software
- General Knowledge of Civil 3D software
- Working knowledge and application of Sewer and/or Water GEMS software
- General knowledge/ability to develop Construction Cost Estimates
- General knowledge/ability to develop Equipment and Construction specificity
