About this Role: We are seeking a passionate and results-driven Global Sustainability Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in advancing Tricon's sustainability agenda. In this role, you will lead key sustainability initiatives, including reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, enhancing responsible sourcing practices, and ensuring compliance with evolving sustainability regulations. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and industry partners to drive meaningful progress toward our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.
Responsibilities:
- GHG Emissions and Product Carbon Footprint
- Implement the supplier incentive program and supplier engagement for product carbon footprint and logistics emissions.
- Review and ensure appropriate quality of product carbon footprints and primary data from suppliers and service providers.
- Provide technical support for any questions or inquiries on product carbon footprint.
- Drive improvements in product carbon footprint quality, completeness, and reporting.
- Manage and improve GHG emissions across the company.
- Responsible Sourcing:
- Drive Tricon's responsible sourcing program globally, including human rights and environmental due diligence.
- Assess supplier performance and opportunities for improvement or collaboration.
- Sustainability Data Collection and Reporting:
- Manage sustainability reporting process from end to end.
- Help develop the annual sustainability report.
- Ensure data accuracy and quality controls for external disclosures.
- Measure and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of sustainability programs.
- Manage sustainability reporting and disclosure submissions, e.g. EcoVadis, CSRD, reports to financial institutions.
- Other Sustainability Tasks
- Support Tricon's social investment strategy to contribute to community efforts toward zero waste, zero emissions, and zero inequality.
- Support Tricon Cares programs related to volunteer and fundraising efforts.
- Help ensure company-wide compliance with relevant sustainability laws and regulations.
- Participate actively in relevant industry and multistakeholder initiatives (e.g. Together for Sustainability).
- Support the implementation of Tricon's sustainability goals.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in environmental science, ecology, geography, anthropology, environmental studies, environmental economics, or similar.
- Graduate degree in environmental science, sustainability, or similar field preferred.
- Demonstrated track record in sustainability, including GHG emissions, environmental compliance, and sustainability reporting.
- Experience with partnership and program development.
- Strong commitment to environmental and social impact.
Sustainability Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of sustainability standards and frameworks (e.g. GRI, CSRD, IFC Performance Standards, UN SDGs).
- Strong environmental management skills.
- Understanding of GHG Protocol, lifecycle assessments, and product carbon footprint standards, e.g. from ISO 14067, WBCSD, and Together for Sustainability.
- Working knowledge of human rights frameworks and due diligence processes.
Other Skills:
- Excellent communications skills, including English-language content development.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to interface with business partners on sustainability issues.
- Ability and flexibility to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally, collaborating globally across the business.
- Strategic thinking, able to see the big picture, but also with attention to detail and action-oriented.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
