MAS Environmental (a NOVA Engineering & Environmental Company) is seeking a talented and experienced
Environmental Project Manager (PG or PE) to oversee environmental remediation projects throughout the
Florida Panhandle region. The candidate will work from one of our following offices: Pensacola (preferred), Panama City Beach, or Tallahassee offices. This position will support the Environmental business line, primarily working on Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Petroleum Restoration Program projects.
The successful candidate will provide technical skills on projects within the department and will develop strong relationships with the team and clients to enable pursuit of new opportunities. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team.
The successful candidate will be committed to the team's success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables.
The job responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management
- Manages and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects
- Leads teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices
- Utilizes existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance
- Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking
- Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager
- Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies
- Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team
- Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work
- Conducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued improvement
Qualifications:MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in Environmental Science or related field + 5 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Experience in environmental remediation (soil and water) project management
- Experience successfully managing environmental projects under FDEP's Petroleum Restoration Program
- Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders. Interest in business development. Occasional overnight travel required
- Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass Motor Vehicle Records Review
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 5+ years' experience in environmental remediation (soil and water) project management
- Professional License (PE, PG)
- Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations
- Thorough working knowledge of Chapter 62-780, Florida Administrative Code
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills
- Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery
- Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences
