Mark Thomas is hiring a licensed Project Landscape Architect in Northern California! This is an excellent full- time opportunity for a motivated and experienced Landscape Architecture professional interested in working on a diverse list of projects while making their mark in our Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Division. Our Landscape Architects primarily focus on complete streets, urban design, streetscape, green streets, highway design, active transportation & trail design. Some of our other project opportunities also include public parks, athletic field designs, and community development projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Acts in responsible charge of deliverables for components of projects or projects in their entirety as directed by the Project Manager or Division Manager.
- Ensures that designer staff, technicians & interns follow Company standards and maintains a high level of quality.
- Provides oversight of the day-to-day project activities and operations with design staff.
- Coordinates and supports construction activities as necessary.
- Reviews project plans, cost estimates, quantities, reports and exhibits for completeness & accuracy.
- Engages with proposal teams to yield cost effective project wins.
- Manages internal design team efforts.
- Supervises and mentors more junior staff & encourage professional development.
- Conducts internal technical training to ensure staff complies with guidelines, standards, project requirements, and current best practices.
- Gains knowledge of scope, budgets, agreements, and financial reporting systems.
- Participates in interview and selection of LAUD candidates.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelors' degree from an accredited landscape architecture program, a Masters' Degree is a plus.
- 4-7+ years relevant experience with progressive, increased responsibilities.
- Landscape Architecture license in the State of California required.
- Demonstrated ability to delegate and lead design groups.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities.
- Knowledge and experience with MS Project.
- Knowledge of landscape construction practices.
- Demonstrated oral & written communication skills.
- Work & collaborate in a team environment.
*Candidates will need to submit 4-5 pages of work samples with a description of their role in a project.

The offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The base compensation range for this position is $78,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually.
