Become an Energy Project Development Principal Manager with our client and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll establish a strategy and set the client course for developing utility-owned energy storage projects and competitive transmission projects in the California Independent System Operator system. You will lead a team that will execute that strategy to develop these projects, prepare bids to be submitted into competitive processes, and cultivate strategic partnerships.
Responsibilities- Creates and directs strategy for the client's utility-owned storage (UOS) and competitive transmission activities
- Oversee UOS and competitive transmission projects by directing the development, bidding, due diligence, contracting, and closing process
- Oversees team responsible for the development of UOS and competitive transmission projects and submission into competitive processes
- Manages and negotiates engineering, procurement, and construction agreements, strategic partnership agreements, and other related commercial transactions
- Develop commercial structures to advance the client's competitive transmission activities
- Engages and directs internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives
- Assesses operating strategies around market conditions and trends, as well as state, local and federal regulatory policies and actions to guide the client's competitive business strategies
- The material duty of all positions within the Company is to ensure the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications- Seven or more years managing/supervising an organization/unit or possessing seven or more years project management experience.
- Experience with energy projects, competitive transmission, or competitive infrastructure origination and development.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's in business administration (MBA), Juris Doctorate (JD), Master's in Engineering or other advanced degree.
- Seven years of direct experience developing bids for large infrastructure projects and/or generation and energy storage resources.
- Seven years of direct experience negotiating complex commercial transactions such as power purchase, engineering, procurement and construction, joint venture, and other related agreements.
- Strong technical knowledge of transmission planning and/or energy storage resources.
- Strong knowledge of FERC Order 1000 and/or California Public Utilities Commission's UOS regulatory framework.
- Diverse background in people management and team leadership capabilities.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical ability to recommend projects and bidding strategies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to simultaneously manage various assignments, work quickly and effectively under pressure, and prioritize activities and risks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
