Your Role:Project Overview & Deliverables: The interns will be hands-on in the laboratory for ~70% of their time. The other ~30% will be spent on experimental design and data analysis.The deliverable will be a bullet point research report plus supporting slide deck to be presented to Imerys stakeholders.
Possible Project Focuses include: Supporting new product development for sustainable construction industry.Evaluation of different milling methods - such as ball milling, jet milling, or stirred media milling and Perform a systematic study of diverse minerals, including but not limited to kaolin, talc, mica, calcium carbonate, and feldspar. Utilize state-of-the-art analytical techniques to measure and record crucial properties such as particle size distribution, specific surface area, brightness, oil absorption, and rheological behavior. This may involve working with advanced instruments like X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and various spectroscopic method
Project Learning Objectives: The intern(s) is expected to develop independent observation/thinking, project management skills, analytical skills, paint formulation and mineral application experience in coatings.
