POSITION OVERVIEWDiscover, develop, and improve Gentex technology by engaging in research and development, testing, and evaluation of novel technologies, processes, and/or applications. Would need to optimize and implement chemical manufacturing and purification processes and equipment, while ensuring compliance with safety and governmental regulations. This chemist or chemical engineer would also need to develop and perform laboratory chemical synthesis and improvements through effective reaction planning, troubleshooting and interpretation of chemical analytical test results.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Responsible for assisting in the development of new materials, devices and/or processes that help to advance the company's new product offerings.
- When called upon, assist in the solving of problems associated with production processes, materials and/or products.
- Work with suppliers to find products or technologies which can improve quality, reduce cost, or simplify manufacturing.
- Document and analyze experimental data, including maintaining an accurate notebook and/or database of experimental results.
- Perform various laboratory activities relating to research projects within the Materials Research & Development team and various research groups.
- Support Gentex Manufacturing in assuring that existing processes and products meet quality specifications.
- When needed, aid other group members in the performance of their research and development duties.
- Coordination of assembly and testing of new products and/or processes.
- Participate in technical collaboration with members from other sections and/or divisions.
- Other duties as assigned.
