Job Description:
The Waste & Recycling Division at LaBella provides complete engineering services to create sustainable, cost-effective solutions tailored to the specific needs of our solid waste clients. The projects are intricate and incorporate civil and environmental engineering skills, including land development (grading and stormwater management); leachate collection, treatment, and management; renewable energy designs; and organic waste management.
This position will work closely under the supervision of a Senior Engineer to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports. Candidate must be able to work independently, as well as part of multi-discipline teams.
Summer intern candidate will work on an interesting variety of project types in the Richmond, VA ofice including capturing methane emissions, environmental protection, facility design and construction, and other unique projects.
Requirements
• Projects will include solid-waste related site development projects: developing master plans, design drawings, design of stormwater management and erosion control systems, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
• Drafting work for scoping/conceptual work/engineering packages.
• Preparing various types of related reports and studies and secure permitting for projects.
Position will require some travel to clients' facilities to better understand design issues and to monitor construction progress.
