The
Solar Photovoltaic Lead is responsible for overall management and performance of the Solar PV task orders, to include performing corrective maintenance (CM) and preventive maintenance (PM) for commercial solar arrays in the NAVFAC SW area of responsibility (predominantly CA and AZ).
This position may also cover the installation of PV systems but focuses on the maintenance of all PV systems to ensure successful operating and includes the mounting systems components, assisting with electrical equipment, and any associated peripherals.
This position primarily involves working outdoors, and will require work on elevated PV systems including but not limited to rooftops and platform mounted arrays.
This position may require directing general maintenance workers or maintenance trade helpers to support CM and PM.
Duties and Responsibilities - Complete corrective and preventive maintenance within timeframes and budgets and to OEM standards.
- Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with a primary focus on personal and crew safety.
- Work exceptionally well with others (including the customer) and provide leadership when required for a maintenance crew.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues.
- Communicate with Government partners in a professional manner.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and note in EMI's CMMS.
- Perform condition assessments and asset inventories as required.
- Maintain all project documentation, permits, AHAs, OEM manuals, and maintenance history.
- Maintain communication with project management office for upcoming maintenance.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work.

Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED and vocational certification preferred
- Minimum 10 years experience working on Solar Photovoltaic systems
- Valid driver's license is required
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to military installations is required
- Excellent Written and verbal communication skills to include effective presentation skills in one-on-one situations with customers and coworkers.
Physical Demands - Requires lifting and moving as much as 50 pounds without assistance as needed.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, stand, twist, stoop, reach, squat, and walk. Performing duties may require prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping. May also be required to climb ladders and enter confined spaces.
- Electricians may spend long hours outside and in awkward positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain. They may stand for long periods and frequently work on ladders and scaffolds. Electricians risk injury from electrical shock, falls, and cuts; to avoid injuries, they must follow strict safety procedures.
