The Aquatic Coordinator
We're hiring a part-time Aquatic Coordinator to work under the Aquatic's Director for the Clermont Family YMCA.
General Function:

Under the direction of the Aquatic Director, Program Director, or Executive Director and in accordance with the Christian nature and purpose of the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, the Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of aquatic programs and the safety and service of the members in the swimming are. This position maintains records, schedules staff and ensures proper pool maintenance. May provide swim instruction and lifeguarding as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
Theincumbent must have the competencies, skills, and proven leadership ability to successfully carry out the association's mission, goals, and visions for serving the community. The Aquatics Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
1. Provides day-to-day coordination of aquatic programs.
2. Actively teaches aquatic classes and/ or lifeguards as necessary.
3. Assists with recruiting, hiring, training and evaluating aquatic staff.
4. Schedules lifeguards and instructors to ensure complete leverage.
5. Assists with the ongoing maintenance and recording of pool chemicals and pool area.
6. Manages all daily statistics and records.
7. Maintains aquatic equipment and areas with a high attention to cleanliness and safety.
8. Assists with program promotion.
9. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
10. Attends staff meetings and trainings required.
11. Provides ongoing in-service training and safety checks with the aquatic staff to assure the safest environment possible.
12. Assume all other responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills
1. Minimum 18 years of age
2. Highschool Diploma or it's equivalent required.
3. Two (2) or more years of experience teaching and/or organizing aquatic programs.
4. Must have current YMCA Life guarding certification.
5. Must posses CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification, First Aid/AED/Oxygen Certifications.
6. Ability to work well with members, staff and volunteers and possess good written/oral/ communication skills and organizational skills.

The incumbent is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time, to talk and hear, sit, lift, and or move up to 40 lbs, to climb and or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The incumbent is regularly required to work under pressure and or to work rapidly to meet deadlines. More than 90% of time is spent outdoors working in seasonal weather conditions. The noise level is normal to loud within an active YMCA program environment.
