OVERALL OBJECTIVE: Lead and manage a variety of complex projects in support of various electric utility clients, overseeing all processes from initiation to closeout.
JOB COMPLEXITY/SCOPE: Supervises, directs, and coordinates with project stakeholders including clients, engineers, and contractors regarding scope, schedule and cost adherence. Responsible for maintaining client relationships and participating in business development activities as required. As an expert in the field of project management, provides team leadership on multiple complex projects.
SUPERVISION: May supervise the work of subordinate PMs.

JOB DUTIES:
Cost Management
• Manages, controls, and monitors project costs during all project phases.
• Develops and manages project budget and cash flow analysis.
• Prepares and reviews cost estimates.
• Identifies potential areas of cost savings and acts to implement these ideas.
• Monitors Cotter fees and contract performance.
Schedule Management
• Maintains the overall project schedule and works to ensure on-time completion.
• Identifies schedule concerns and works with the project team to correct. Prepares and implements make-up schedules to get the work back on track.
• Oversight of project deliverables.
Client Relations and Business Development
• Maintains relationship with client on an ongoing basis to enhance client satisfaction and increase potential for additional business.
• Pursues new opportunities with current clients.
• Assists with development and preparation of qualifications, proposals, and presentations.
Identifies new opportunities, meets and presents to prospective clients.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or closely related field
• Experience with MS Office Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Direct experience or exposure to electrical utilities a plus
• Typically requires 10 years related experience
• PMP Certification is preferred

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job duties in an office setting require the following:
• Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to move throughout the office;
• The ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects;
• Good hand-eye coordination; the ability to reach with hands and arms; and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp;
• Close visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate office equipment, prepare and review data and figures, and view a computer monitor;
• The ability to talk and hear;
• The ability to work in an upper level of a high-rise office building (Cotter Chicago office and some client offices);

Job duties that require visiting a construction work site require the following:
• Normal color vision;
• The ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc., using feet and legs and/or hands and arms;
• The ability to move across uneven surfaces and the ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling on uneven or slippery surfaces;
• The ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch;
• The ability to stand for sustained periods of time;
• The ability to work in confined spaces and narrow passageways;
• The ability to work in high places; and
• The ability to handle outside environmental conditions including extreme heat, extreme cold, loud noise levels, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, and oils.
