The California Training and Communications Risk Manager will be responsible for creation and execution of an ambitious environmental training roadmap that will support for all business types across California. Successful candidates are collaborators who work closely with cross functional teams to effectively prioritize and deploy training programs based on customer and business need. The role demands thought clarity, dynamic cross-functional partnership, and strategic thinking to innovate on behalf of our customers.
This role involves travel 20-30% throughout California.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop environmental curriculum to support onboarding of new employees and development of tenured employees
- Assess existing curriculum for improvement opportunities
- Manage relationship with stakeholders to understand training needs
- Conduct data analysis deep dive to measure training impact and develop training metrics
- Work backwards - demonstrate planning capability to execute on deliverables (manage stakeholders, and coordinate details)
- Write narratives to communicate changes to training mental model and inform stakeholders and customers
- Develop effective communication program for stakeholder awareness, engagement, and knowledge building
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience creating engaging, interactive training curricula and materials tailored to adult learners
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
- Master's degree or equivalent
- Experience in compliance, audit or risk management

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
