ChampionX, has an immediate need for a
Principal Discipline Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing) to work out of our
Sugar Land, TX. Reporting to the Director of Process Technology and Quality, this role is focused supporting global manufacturing operations by providing advice, guidance and direction on technical aspects of operations to continually improve process safety, efficiency and quality performance. They will be a key liaison between centralized operations and manufacturing sites.
The individual must be an excellent communicator that can work effectively with personnel across R&D (Research & Development), Marketing, Procurement, and the global supply chain. The individual must possess a strong sense of ownership and be able to plan, organize, and conduct work that leads to data-based decision making.

What You Will Do:- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the reaction or blend area of responsibility globally and provide advice
- Identify best practices across internal manufacturing operations and share across the network to improve manufacturing processes in terms of robustness, yield & quality
- Identify industry best practices and implement across the network to support world-class manufacturing operations
- Specifying and supporting installation of new equipment
- Be the leader in Process Safety across the area of responsibility by setting the standards for Principles of Design and validating Process Hazard Assessments
- Leading root cause analysis to support recurring issues with manufacturing equipment and/or processes
- Supporting Corporate Quality Assurance processes across the global manufacturing sites by coordinating key Quality Management processes such as GTT (Global Technology Transfers), PST (Product Setups), ASAP (Alternate Supplier Approvals)
- Coordinate New Product Introduction initiatives to ensure adequate resource and priority and providing guidance to RD&E
- Provide critical input to the Network Optimization and Make v Buy processes to ensure efficient utilization of resources and maximization of EBITDA
- Support the Digital Strategy of the manufacturing organization by providing SME knowledge and input
Minimum Qualifications: - Educated to degree level in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Chemical processing or similar working in a global manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with Chemical manufacturing equipment and processes
- Proven experience with root cause analysis tools
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience in product development or process development
- Advanced technical or business degree
- Project and process management leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification.
- Strong background in safety. Experience handling FMEA, PHA, PSSR.
- Hands on experience with statistical analysis.
