JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSScheduled Weekly Hours: 40

JOB SUMMARY: The Environmental Services Manager will provide leadership, direction, and management oversight for continuous improvement of the standard EVS operating model within the facility; Provides staff leadership, making sound business decisions in support of the hospital's mission and vision. Demonstrates leadership in providing an optimal environment for patient care, safety, service, and value. Manages the day-to-day operations of the department; ensures a consistently high level of cleanliness and aesthetics to patients, visitors, and staff. Successful candidate must be flexible with their work hours based on needs of patients and hospital operations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) and/or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) certifications or trainer designation preferred. Must acquire CHEST certification within first 12 months of hire.
- Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification. Must acquire CHESP certification within first 2 years of hire.
- Acquire or have scheduled to obtain trainer status for Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (T-CHEST) or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (T-CSCT) within first 12 months of hire.
Can distinguish the differences between levels of disinfection and perform low and intermediate level disinfection. Ability to explain orally or in writing the differences between levels of disinfection and perform intermediate level disinfection in areas where required. Can demonstrate effective use of computers and/or mobile devices for daily job performance activities. Respectfully listens to viewpoints and ideas of others. Ability to communicate orally or in writing openly and candidly, creates an environment where co-workers and team members reciprocate in kind. Respectfully listens to and respects the viewpoints and ideas of others. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members and management. Ability to clearly and effectively articulate and present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Exhibits excellent interpersonal and communication skills and provides a work environment that fosters positive energy, creativity, and teamwork among colleagues across all functional areas. Requires knowledge windows applications, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and related applications. Experience with typical EVS equipment/machinery.
This position requires driving a hospital-owned vehicle and/or a personally owned vehicle to perform the essential job duties. In order to be considered, the candidate:
- Must have a valid and current state issued driver's license
- Must maintain and provide proof of automobile insurance (at his/her own expense) in amounts which meet at least the minimum liability coverage limits required by the state of their residence.
- Clearance of driving record check; Driving records shall not contain any of the following: a suspended or revoked driver's license, 3 or more moving violations in the past 36 months, 2 or more accidents in the past 36 months, 1 or more instances of driving under the influence (DUI) or driving while intoxicated (DWI) within the past 24 months, at fault in a fatal accident within the past 5 years, leaving the scene of an accident within the past 36 months, and/or reckless driving within the past 12 months.
Preferred Qualifications: Minimum five (5) years in environmental services and/or acute care related service departments preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required, with the exception of lifting overhead (limited to 3 pounds).
