The OpportunityManulife Forest Management is seeking a Senior Forester to join the team in Oregon, based out of our Grants Pass, OR office. This position supports forest management operations on approximately 293,000 acres in "Western Oregon Region". Daily assignments are performed in a friendly team environment alongside a diverse group of foresters, managers, and administrative personnel.
Primary responsibilities for this position will be road and stream crossing design and supervision of road/stream crossing projects and road maintenance contracts; timber harvest planning, layout, and administration of timber harvest operations; budgeting, permitting, contract administration, and tracking responsibilities under BLM reciprocal right-of-way agreements.
Scope:- Required to develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, concerned partners and MIM staff.
- Participate with region staff in the management of transportation systems, harvest operations, silviculture, and other land management activities
- Will report directly to the Senior Area Manager, with oversight from the Senior Forest Engineer on technical engineering issues
Duties- Field engineering activities including design and layout of roads, stream crossings and harvest units
- Administration of road construction, maintenance and harvest contracts
- Design and implementation of FRIA-required road inventory and reporting to Oregon Department of forestry
- Development of annual property budgets and forecasts
- Stewardship and SFI compliance
- Stewardship of people, including development, implementation, and leadership in support of the MFM safety principles
- Support acquisitions, dispositions and client information requests
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:- A bachelor's degree in Forest Engineering, Forest Management, or other related field and at least 3-years of experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Fluency in computer software including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and ArcGIS
- Team player, be able to understand and work with others' needs and with different personalities
- Highly motivated and entrepreneurial
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- In depth working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations
- Must work independently and travel to remote destinations in the woods

Salary range is expected to be between$68,175.00 USD - $113,625.00 USD
