Landscaping by J. Michael is looking for a Gardener/Horticulturalist. The ideal candidates are results-driven, passionate about the green industry and contributing to growth. Job SummaryPlans and schedule for day-to-day operation of the Horticultural Department.
Responsibilities and Duties- Apply general and accepted practices for pruning, fertilizing disease/fungus control and maintenance of residential and commercial properties.
- To work and oversee up to 2 crew members.
- Responsible for paper work, documentation, photographs, client recommendations and scheduling site visits.
- Perform estimates and sales to clients.
- Assist in Landscape Department as needed.
Qualifications and Skills- 5+ year experience in landscape maintenance and horticulture or related field.
- Skilled in proper pruning techniques and general garden bed maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs.
- Proper use of both organic and chemical treatment for disease and insect control.
- Valid driver's license
- Valid DOT Health Card or the ability to obtain one
- Pesticide and/or MCLP licenses a plus
