Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified
Environmental Engineer to support environmental remediation projects at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF). The successful candidate must be a
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Louisiana and have experience working within Louisiana's regulatory frameworks, including the Louisiana Risk Evaluation/Corrective Action Program (RECAP). This position involves managing and monitoring contaminated soil and groundwater remediation efforts in compliance with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6 guidelines.
Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and implement remediation work plans for soil and groundwater contamination in accordance with regulatory frameworks, including RECAP.
- Develop interim summary reports and comprehensive final project reports for submission to regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with state and federal regulators to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
- Participate in virtual and onsite meetings, presenting site data and project progress to stakeholders.
- Coordinate remediation construction projects, including the implementation of approved work plans.
- Maintain analytical databases, administrative records, and schedules to support project activities.
- Lead and coordinate soil and groundwater sampling activities.
- Conduct analytical reviews, summarize results, and provide recommendations for project advancement.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for remediation activities.
- Provide regular briefings and updates to the Remediation Project Manager (RPM).
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Louisiana (active license).
- Proven experience in soil and groundwater remediation projects.
- Expertise in Louisiana RECAP and other state and federal regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience preparing final project reports that have received closure or approval from regulatory agencies.
- Familiarity with managing databases and administrative records for environmental projects.
- Previous experience supporting federal or NASA environmental programs.
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
