Purpose:The Account Manager, Energy Materials is responsible for maximizing long-term sales of Energy Materials Division products within the assigned North American territory by utilizing complete knowledge of all the Division's products, policies, capabilities and objectives to develop and implement effective long-term account strategies.
Job Functions/Accountabilities:- Sells the Division's products by establishing strong long-term business relationships with existing customer base and global accounts.
- Develops and implements account strategies (some are global) to meet the customer's long-term needs in a manner consistent with ZCLP's objectives and capabilities.
- Plays a leading role with assistance from the Business Development Manager in the development and implementation of customer contracts/supply agreements.
- Serves as the first and single point of contact for current and prospective customers of ZEON's Energy Materials Division from a technical and commercial perspective; Screens leads, provides initial technical data and determines appropriate prioritization.
- Identify and drive technical projects at customers and partners to best position ZEON as preferred binder supplier
- Takes ownership of technical projects from early stage to qualification/commercialization
- Plays a leadership role in influencing the entire ZCLP organization towards improving its Customer Focus.
- Maintains a strong working knowledge of the Division's product lines, markets and technologies and that of the lithium-ion industry, as a whole. Plays an active leadership role in lithium-ion industry groups.
- Develop strong relationships with ZC Energy Materials personnel (business and technical) to align customer messaging and determine best strategies to win business and provide best customer experiences
- Establishes an annual sales plan (volume and dollars) for the territory and proactively monitors sales results and changing market and economic conditions to ensure that plan is achieved.
- Thinks innovatively, actively investigates opportunities for new products & applications. Coordinates with ZC Research and Development team(s).
- Reports in a prompt, accurate and concise manner significant developments within territory and assigned accounts via interaction reports in Salesforce.
- Constantly monitors competitive activity and reports significant developments promptly and accurately; .
- Submits administrative reports (expense reports, RPA's) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Continuously seeks ways to improve the performance of our operation and ensures that customers' (both internal and external) needs are met. Adhere to the quality system.
- Performs all other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
- 30-40% domestic & international travel required.
Qualifications:Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or other related field is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of work experience in technical sales may be considered in lieu of education.
Experience:
- Minimum ten years of successful experience as a Sales Representative/Senior Sales Representative with demonstrated experience within the lithium-ion industry and/or energy storage market.
