Description
Under the Aquatic Center Supervisor's direction, the Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring safety in the pool area at the Aquatics Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensures safety in the pool area at all times.
- Monitors individuals using aquatic facilities to include operation and safety of equipment.
- Reports any unusual activities or unsafe conditions to the Lifeguard Supervisor.
- Willing to work overtime, holidays and weekends.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
If you have a current Lifeguard, CPR and AED, or any other related certifications, please scan and attach, and include the details in the certification section of the application.
If you do not have a current Lifeguard certification, you will be required to obtain one prior to the first day of employment. After successfully passing the certification course and completing the aquatic center work season, the cost of the certification expense is reimbursable.
Requirements
AGE REQUIREMENT
- 16 years or older on first day of work.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lifeguard/CPR Certification
- Must be an excellent swimmer
- Ability to work with both children and adults
- Knowledge of first aid
- Knowledge of general safety requirements and procedures
- Ability to read signs, labels and follow directions
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of twenty pounds
- Work is performed outdoors
- Subject to noise levels, odors
- May require working odd and unusual hours
- Duties will involve walking, standing, crouching, kneeling, and swimming
