Job Summary:
Monitor and maintain the safety of customers, patrolling and enforcing facility rules, general cleaning and daily
maintenance of pool facilities and locker rooms, instructing swimmers in swim school, and other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None.
FLSA:
• Hourly, non-exempt
Employment Type:
• Seasonal/ Temporary.
Pay:
• $16.25-$17.50/hr

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
• Assist other staff with maintaining the safety of customers
• Assists pool manager with opening and closing procedures
• Patrol pool facilities and enforce facility rules
• Assist pool manager with public inquiries, concerns, and complaints to resolve issues and improve services
• Instruct students in swim school
• Department assistance as needed.
Essential Skills/Abilities/ Requirements:
• Must be at least 15 years of age- Required.
• Must be able to prove reliable transportation-Required.
• A valid work Permit- Required.
• Must be able to pass a background check, (ages 18+)- Required.
• American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard certification (upload a copy with the application you submit).
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Qualities such as trustworthiness, reliability, diligence.
• Physical and mental capacity to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Ability to read, write and communicate well with others (English).
• Available Mid-May through Labor Day. evenings and weekend are required.
• Qualities such as diplomacy, trustworthiness, reliability, and diligence.

Essential Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to work long hours outdoors, especially, summer temperatures.
• Must be available mornings, days, nights, and weekends.
• Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, or squat for long periods of time.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to use close and long-distance vision and adjust between the two.
• Running related to the job duties will be occasionally necessary.
• Ability to communicate effectively, included but not limited to speaking, directing, and listening.
