Job Summary:
Monitor and supervise pool facilities, operations and staff while promoting enthusiasm and making the pool a safe
and fun place for the community.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Seasonal employee lifeguards and pool staff.
FLSA:
• Hourly, non-exempt

Pay:
• $17.25-$17.75/hr

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
• assisting customers
• respond to public inquiries, concerns, and complaints to resolve and improve services
• general cleaning and daily maintenance of pool facilities and locker rooms
• daily checking and balancing pool chemicals
• monitoring use of supplies & inventory
• overseeing swim lessons and public swimming
• patrolling and enforcing facility rules
• handle opening and closing procedures opening and closing register, balancing receipts, and making daily
• deposits
• oversee and instruct swim lessons
• monitoring and supervising staff including scheduling, time sheets, staff meetings, training, discipline,
• evaluations and more.
• other duties as assigned within the scope of the position to benefit the O'Fallon Parks & Recreation
• Department.
Essential Skills/Abilities/ Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) or American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) advanced certification.
• Current certification in (or ability to achieve) First Aid & CPR.
• Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing (English)
• Qualities such as diplomacy, trustworthiness, reliability, and diligence.
• Physical and mental capacity to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Available mid-May through Labor Day - mornings, days, evenings and weekends are required.
• Must pass a background check, required.
Essential Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to work long hours in outdoor, especially summer temperatures
• Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, or squat for long periods of time
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to use close and long-distance vision and adjust between the two
• Running related to the job duties will be occasionally necessary
• Ability to communicate effectively, included but not limited to speaking, directing, and listening.
