PBAY SFM, LLC, in cooperation with Sports Facilities Management Aquatics, LLC ("SFM Aquatics, LLC") and Counsilman-Hunsaker, manages the Pelican Bay Aquatic Center located in Edmond, Oklahoma. Pelican Bay Aquatic Center is a state-of-the-art municipal leisure pool owned by the City of Edmond. It includes two 150-foot water slides, a current channel, a climbing wall, aquatic play structure, and a zero-depths playground for plenty of ways to have fun in the water. In addition to recreational swim, PBAC also offers swim lessons, birthday parties, and cabana rentals.
POSITION SUMMARYThe Aquatics Coordinator will be responsible for all programming aspects of the Aquatics Center. This position will also assist with operational and Lifeguard supervision responsibilities for all aquatics areas.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:- Coordinates all responsibilities relative to aquatics programming including swim lessons and water aerobics
- Assists with booking and executing birthday parties and private parties/events
- Assists with lifeguard team member performance evaluations each season
- Develops surveys and method of distribution for evaluations of programs and services
- Coordinates requests for equipment usage and facility space with the Aquatics Manager
- Assists with payroll, scheduling, and supervising lifeguards
- Conducts meetings with lifeguards and participants (i.e. in-service training and Learn to Swim program)
- Assists with daily cleaning and maintenance of all pool areas
- Provides Excellent customer service to guests and members on a daily basis
- Completes other duties as assigned by General Manager
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:- Current Certified Pool Operator certification (will provide training and certification for a candidate that does not have it)
- Current Red Cross certification in Lifeguard Training, Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor, CPR-PR and First Aid Instructor, or equivalent are all preferred
- 2-4 years of supervision experience in an aquatics center
- Experience and success in delivering Excellent customer service
- Action-oriented personality with a 'get it done' attitude and proficiency for efficiency
- The ability to thrive in a Team environment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Private and group swim lesson experience
- Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
- Must be able to work under pressure and be decisive.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends
- Must be Lifeguard Certified
- Must be at least 18 years of age
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Must be able to lift 50 pounds' waist high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in outside weather conditions
- Will be exposed to outside temperatures
- Will be exposed to pool chemicals
