Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Senior Leader to for it's Energy team. The incumbent will lead a large organization consisting of engineers, technicians, their leaders, and will be responsible for improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness of involved manufacturing steps to a world class level, thus helping Tesla produce a high volume of great and cost-effective products. The ideal candidate will have a track record of significant achievements, tremendous drive, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves.
Responsibilities - Responsible for a portion of Energy Manufacturing, including engineering, maintenance, reliability, as well as future projects
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Controls teams to install and ramp new equipment and processes, then take hand over for long term sustenance, and continually improve their efficiency to a world class level
- Drive a safety mindset in their organization through Environmental Health and Safety assurance, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting incidents, proactively identifying and correcting manufacturing, and workplace hazards
- Develop a high-performance team with excellent technical ability to breakdown complex problems into their first principles, and ability to collaborate and positively influence cross functional teams
- Achieve and maintain high product quality and manufacturing yield. Collaborate with Quality team to contain, correct, prevent product quality issues, and reduce risk in the processes
- Drive strategies to achieve set productivity, capacity as well as other key business goals
- Setup an effective preventative maintenance program to ensure long term reliability of manufacturing equipment
- Innovate processes and procedures to help streamline production operation
- Reduce cost of goods through continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements - Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 10 years related manufacturing experience, 3+ years management experience in a highly automated manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and automation principles with the demonstrated capability to improve performance of a multi-line manufacturing facility
- Experience with process improvement methodologies to maximize efficiency and throughput
- Ability to drive engineering problems to true root cause and elimination
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing demands, meet tight deadlines, multitask and adapt to constant change
- Demonstrated ability to coach, develop and influence direct and indirect subordinates
- Must possess effective verbal and written communications skills along with strong attention to detail, flexibility, and prioritization
- Must be adaptable in work schedule (including compressed work week and night shift) and working environment
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information

$151,200 - $226,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
