Senior Manager, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is responsible for developing and implementing EHS programs and processes at AGC Biologics' Longmont and Boulder, Colorado locations. his role provides EHS leadership and technical expertise to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance and process excellence during facility startup and continuing operations. The Senior Manager drives efforts to create and maintain a safe working environment and safety culture.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead the Colorado EHS team and ensure an aligned safe work culture, robust EHS procedures, and processes. Collaborate with site leadership to minimize operational risk.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Colorado EHS organization, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement EHS programs to support site-specific needs and global EHS goals.
- Analyze and evaluate EHS performance, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and align efforts with AGC Biologics' business objectives.
- Oversee EHS support for AGC Biologics construction projects, ensuring contractor compliance with safety rules and company policies.
- Ensure conformance with ISO14001 and ISO45001, and lead audits and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead EHS incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
- Oversee EHS training programs to ensure regulatory compliance and employee awareness.
- Develop EHS policies and procedures to control site-specific risks and comply with laws and regulations.
- Interface with regulatory agencies to ensure EHS compliance and represent the site during inspections and audits.
- Establish and support safety organizations such as Safety Committees, Wellness teams, and Sustainability groups.
- Perform risk assessments for new equipment, processes, and projects to reduce injury potential and environmental liability.
- Evaluate new client molecules for occupational health and safety risks and serve as an EHS subject matter expert during client audits.
- Oversee emergency preparedness, planning, and the formation of emergency response teams.
- Manage hazardous waste programs, including waste minimization, pollution prevention, and disposal reporting.
- Effectively communicate with team members at all level.

- Experience in implementing EHS management systems (e.g., ISO14001, ISO45001).
- Effective training, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong ability to analyze data, assess risks, and identify solutions.
- Ability to work independently and in teams, including on flexible work schedules.
- Proficiency in software applications for monitoring, reporting, and presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to partner and lead the direction of the organization.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety or related field, with equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in environmental health and safety management in biopharmaceutical or chemical industries.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards is required.
- Professional certification (CSP or CIH) preferred.
COMPENSATION:
$124,000 - $195,000
