We are currently looking to fill the position of "Service Person". The Lanracorp "Service Person" assists with the ground maintenance and vegetation control requirements of our industrial and utility sites that are maintained and managed through our Northwest Ohio Office. This position will be a daily direct report to a recurring account located in Oregon, OH 43616.
The Lanracorp "Service Person" is responsible for providing professional industrial lawn and grounds maintenance by utilizing, but not limited to the following job requirements:
• Comprehend and execute verbal and written directives as assigned
• Ability to meet the physical needs of our equipment usage and the variable site terrain/weather conditions consistently through a standard eight- or ten-hour shift
• Driving of company vehicles, as needed (valid Driver's license required)
• Perform inspections, operations, and maintenance of zero-turn riding mowers
• Perform inspections, operations, and maintenance of weed trimmers, and leaf blowers (handheld and backpack)
• Utilize powered and non-powered intrinsically compliant communication devices and hand tools
• Hold basic knowledge of operation, function, and usage of general hand tools
• Ability to work independently
• Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
• Must be able to communicate with others.
• Must be able to maintain balance over uneven terrain.
• Must have endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight or ten hour day.
• Must have sufficient eyesight to judge distances and coordination to spray proper areas.
• Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and the requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Due to site-access obligations and specific safety requirements in our work industry, all candidates must pass abackground check, motor vehicle record check, fit-for-duty test, and drug (hair) screen prior to their scheduled first day of employment. All candidates that do not have these requirements fulfilled prior to their agreed upon start date will have their employment offer rescinded.
Compensation: Pay range for our vegetation management crew is performance based and currently at $20-28/hr. Personal career path advancement is directly correspondent to the meeting/exceeding of assigned responsibilities associated with the position held. Overtime will be paid for any hours worked over forty hours in a single week cycle.
Training and completion of ODA Trained Service person material (with an ODA licensed supervisor) and successfully completing a competency over the usage and maintenance of a Remote-Controlled slope mower will be required prior to any advancement from this position or affiliated compensations. The "Service Person" will also assist in daily equipment inspections, maintenance, and any repairs deemed as needed or assigned by the site foreman. Reports to Site Foreman.

Work Schedule: This is a seasonal hourly position where employment will begin in the spring of 2025 and last until the vegetation maintenance needs have ceased at the end of the active growing season, which is typically in the fourth quarter. Schedule for this season is currently anticipated as having four (4) shifts (Mon-Thursday) and consisting of ten (10) hour shifts each shift, for direct report employees. During peak season or cancelled shifts due to inclement weather, Fridays are expected to be worked as a "make-up" shift.
