DescriptionMcCrillis Gardens, a 6-acre horticulture display garden located in Bethesda, MD seeks a part-time seasonal employee to assist with gardening tasks from March through November. The ideal candidate is energetic and enjoys being outside, interacting with people, and has an outstanding work ethic with great attention to detail. Applicants should have a basic knowledge of plants and experience using a variety of equipment for tasks like planting, pruning, weeding, and mulching. On the job training will also be provided as necessary.

Supplemental InformationWorking ConditionsPrimarily works outside. Exposed to weather, dirt, waste, odors, pesticides, wildlife, and potentially harmful insects (for example, bees, hornets, wasps, etc.). Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds. Works independently and as part of a team.

Limited Benefits for Seasonal EmployeesHealth Insurance PlansYou are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period.
If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.
Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%.
