* We do not accept paper applications or emailed resumes.Summary of Job Oversees Aquatic Center seasonal operations to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for patrons and a safe, efficient and effective environment for employees. This position should expect to work 30-50 hours per week during the Aquatic Center season. Working hours will be assigned for days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities - Reports to Seasonal Aquatic Center Program Coordinator.
- Assists in the training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating of all Aquatic Center Staff.
- Prepares in-service training programs for all Aquatic Center Staff prior to the opening of the facility in coordination with the Aquatic Center Program Coordinator and/or Recreation Team Leader
- Assures all staff maintains the proper certification for the position held.
- Coordinates overall operation, excluding mechanical aspects, of the Aquatic Center during open swim hours.
- Reconciles daily and nightly deposits.
- Responds to emergency situations with composure and follows established guidelines for the appropriate response.
- Stays up to date on all health and safety codes
- Creates and maintains accurate records of attendance, accident reports, passes sold, and maintain maintenance and state health records.
- Performs building security duties such as opening and closing of the facility.
- Conducts bi-weekly staff training and daily emergency procedure drills.
- Works closely with Aquatic Program Coordinator, other Aquatic Supervisors, and Building Maintenance in order to maintain all aspects of the facility.
- Performs daily inspections to ensure the facility is in a safe, operable condition.
- Trains staff on, distributes, and enforces- City of Manitowoc policies and procedures.
- Conducts water sample testing according to regulations and takes appropriate action when necessary.
- Helps coordinate summer swimming lessons with guidance from the Recreation Team Leader.
- Works with fitness instructors for needs of water fitness classes.
- Provide excellent customer service to Aquatic Center Patrons.
- Lifeguard duties and/or other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: At least one year managing an outdoor aquatic facility- preferred; Experience with Customer Service
Certifications/Licenses: Lifeguard Supervisors: Valid American Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR/AED/First Aid Certification; American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification- preferred; American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification-preferred
Attendant Supervisors: Food Manager Certification-preferred
Other Requirements: Must be at least 17 years of age
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities - Maintain positive working relationship with staff and other employees.
